...educating and preparing girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.
Each season, Girls on the Run of the Triangle trains volunteers from around the area to be coaches at our program sites. These women bring with them energy, excitement and passion for our mission and training days are truly some of the most fun days at GOTR!
Over the course of two saturdays in January 2010, the GOTR staff trained new and returning coaches and this year, have 90+ female volunteers offering their time and talents to our chapter. How amazing!
Coaches for GOTR-Triangle fill out an application, are background checked, CPR and First Aid certified, reference checked and trained in a half day session. They donate 2 hours per week for the 12 week season.
At each of our 26 sites around the Triangle, GOTR has 2-3 coaches, who work with the girls throughout the season, guiding them through lessons and activities and culminating the season in a 5k with the girls, their families and community members. The 5k is an amazing day and one that each team has worked up to running or walking in throughout their lessons with GOTR.
